Better look out for Guettler in 2010!

Ryan Guettler recently moved into a new house by a lake and has been really focused on BMX, I think your going to see some good results from Ryan this year. He is super fit right now, He spends his days getting up early, road biking, then riding Mirra's warehouse, then off to the gym, and then he's riding again in the afternoon. I've been impressed with how much he's been riding BMX, some of the workouts he does would put the average guy out for the rest of the day, not Ryan though, he always saves some energy to ride his bike everyday.

Ryan's off to Woodward East Camp now to spend some time with his Colony Boss and long time friend Clint Millar, and also young Aussie shredder Alex Hiam.

After Woodward its Dew Tour stop 1 in Chicago, then to X Games Park in LA.
Ryan's Fit and determined in 2010, watch out!

This video is a couple season's old, but thanks to the microwave here at Vans, we are able to reheat this old piece of meat and serve it up once again. There is some great footage of Alistair from 2002 and a great FDR morning session with Vans team mate Gary Young. Check it out on Hulu.

TJ Ellis stomped out a win up in Norcal at Ryan Nyquist's second annual Warriors of Wood box jump contest. TJ had some issues with his leg back in the winter but if he is winning contests already, there must be nothing to worry about.

Nasty's been busy...

Cory “Nasty” Nastazio has been super busy lately. He just got home from a trip that included the Red Bull Stomping grounds Dirt event in Chicago, where he shredded and just missed the finals by a spot. After Chicago he flew to Woodward East in Pennsylvania to attend “Haro week” at camp, with his Haro Bikes teammates.
From Woodward he flew to Augusta, Georgia for the ASA box jump contest. His run included a 360-flip to flip-whip on the second jump, but had some trouble on the quarter pipe at the end of the course. After the event he said he’s got to learn Flair-whips! “Nasty” puts on a show wherever he goes. His next appearance will be at the Master’s event in Cologne, Germany July 16th -18th.

Known for their quality products and deep support of the BMX scene, Wethepeople joined forces with Vans to create a BMX shoe that not only performed on the bike, but looked stylish enough to wear all day. The result is the Calar Mi with matched colors used on Wethepeople’s 2010 product line. Look for the Vans x Wethepeople Calar Mid to hit shops early June. You can enter now to win a pair of the shoes. Winners will also have a chance to score Wethepeople parts including a frame, fork or handlebars.

Guettler Cam and TJ Make Finals at Red Bull Stomping Grounds

The Vans BMX team attended the Red Bull Stomping Grounds event this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois and Vans rider “Fuzzy Hall” spent three weeks with his crew building this course for the riders.

The contest was littered with delays because of the rough weather conditions, and it was either too windy to ride or rain clouds would drop buckets with no warning.

The course was split between two lines, which ended into a wall ride.

Ryan Guettler, Cam White and TJ Ellis made the top 10, with Cory “Nasty” Nastazio just missing the final 10 rider jam in 11th place

The event was lucky to finish with the rain coming in on the final jam to wrap up the event, all the guys had a good time and enjoyed the course set up.

Here is an update on Mr Harrington...

I caught up with Josh Harrington yesterday and he told me he's been filming a bunch, not just for his video project "Still Searchin", but just for whatever really.
Josh has been filming in China and a Vans edit of that trip should be online any day. He also recently visited the city of Rotterdam in the Netherlands to explore and capture some footage on some not so blown out spots. Josh's camera bag includes the Panasonic HMC-150 HD camera, and the legendary Sony VX.
Josh plans to attend the Dew Tour opener in Chicago next month in July and then the Rebel Jam contest in Portugal this September.
