BMX Adventurcation in Guam

The Vans crew just returned from a week in Guam riding skateparks, snorkeling and doing demos for the troops at the US Navy base.  Guam is a small tropical island about 1400 miles off the coast of Japan   that has been inhabited for about 4000 years. Right now is a US territory and has insane scuba, snorkeling and a kick ass skatepark.  This is the Van's team's 3rd time to Guam (2007 & 2010) and it was just as hot as the last two trips. Watch out for the video of Gary Young, Alistair Whitton, Michael Steingraber, Dennis McCoy, Coco Zurita and Ryan Guettler getting tropical in the next couple weeks. Big Thanks to Bill Marx with the NEX for all the hospitality.

Vans Am highlights

The 6th annual Vans Am contest brought to you by Premium Products went down on April 6th, 2013. Over fifty of Southern California's top amateur BMX riders competed in three separate classes at the Vans Skatepark at The Block in Orange, California.

Results were 13 under - 1st Brian Vasquez, 2nd Jadin Covert, 3rd Max Vu.
14 over - 1st Andy Garcia, 2nd Bobby Holland, 3rd Denim Cox.
Advanced 1st Juan Geurrero, 2nd Robbie Decelle, 3rd Taylor Bacheller.

Australian Alex Hiam put in work for this new release for Colony and Vans. Alex is such a nice kid! Stoked to see him get all this moves done.

Sandoval and Guettler Go HAM at Maddog Contest

Dan Sandoval and Ryan Guettler and Scotty Cranmer made it out to Maddog's contest this weekend in snowy Indiana and came away with some great finishes.  As you can imagine, there were lots of whips, flips and 720s being held at Maddog's skatepark, so they all had their work cut out for them.  Between the snowball fights and pizza, Sandoval won the whole shebang and Guettler held down third place on the podium.  Everyone who could clear the massive box jump was loving it, but that step down just looks scary. Simon Tabron Releases New Highlight Edit

Vans BMX UK rider Dan Lacey goes behind enemy lines in this edit for Chain Reaction Bike Shop. Lacey shreds his way through the war-torn streets of the Middle East and smashes out some bangers in Tel Aviv and Barcelona.  The bomb sirens are pretty scary- so are some of Dan's moves.

Vote DMC for the BMX Hall of Fame

It's pretty crazy to think that Dennis McCoy is not in the BMX Hall of fame, considering he turned pro before a couple of the guys on the Vans BMX team were even born.
Nominations for the BMX Hall of fame just opened and anyone can make nominations.  DMC has too many accomplishments to list on here but the BMX historians over on 23mag have a great wiki history of Dennis and all his media exploits. Bruno back in Berlin

Germany's Bruno Hoffmann was born in Berlin and moved away at a young age. He's been living back there and working on a few edits with Redbull and here's episode 1 and it's unreal. Look for the French men Matthias Dandois and Anthony Perrin to clip up as well.
