TJ ELLIS Ripping Dirt Video

TJ Ellis just dropped this ripping dirt jumping video with a bunch of opposite 360 no handers and pretty tech flip combos. You can call them tech, but anything on Parslow's big jump is just straight up burly.

Dew Tour S.F wrap up

10/22/12

Dew Tour San Francisco is in the books. Dirt, Street, and the all new Street Style event had the Vans pros having a good time, doing their thing and representing all weekend!

Here is some points of interest.

-Kyle Baldock won $5,000 in the Dirt best trick event for a Front Flip Cliff Hanger??!!

-15 riders wearing Vans in Dirt semi finals in a field of 28.

-TJ Ellis won semi finals, the preliminary final and finally took 3rd in the 8 man Dirt final. He did a bunch of front flip whips, the trick that took him out for most of 2011 with a torn ACL knee ligament.

-Dak, Josh Harrington and Sean Sexton were in Street and Street style events and all three were carrying injuries all weekend. They still rode and pedaled through the pain. Respect.

-Scotty Cranmer wearing a full face helmet. With the recent head injury to friend of the Vans team Brett Banasiewicz, Scotty decided to lead by example. All riders in the Dew Tour had to pass helmet checks. No soft foam skate helmets were allowed. We recommend you check out the bike specified Pro -Tec helmets and look after your brain, you only get one. Also congrats to Scotty grabbing 3rd in Street Style. Did you see those flip transfers??!!

-Bruno Hoffmann came all the way from Germany and got on the Street podium. Bruno has been blowing lately and this is a great way to wrap up the year. The Street final was insane. Congrats!

That's it for Dew Tour this year with only two stops. Lets see what 2013 brings!

Doyle Wins Vans Kill The Line

9/8/12

The French know how to build some crazy dirt jumps and Chris Doyle knows how to ride them. Legendary Chris Doyle won the 2012 Vans Kill the Line with classically smooth riding and 2 perfectly dialed runs that showed signature Doyle style with 360 turndowns and crowd-pleasing inverts. Michael “Hucker” Clark was the only rider to flip the stepdown and took second place with burly moves, consistent runs and big tricks. Last year’s winner TJ Ellis climbed the podium again with a 3rd place finish thanks to runs that consisted of flip trick variations through the middle set of jumps. Simon Moratz from Germany took home the “UNIT Best Trick” and 1,000 Euro Prize money. Check out the video that Soul BMX Magazine put together from this rad event.

This is Daniels first big win on the Pro circuit and I'm sure there will be a few more, the kid is on fire!

Kyle's first run had a 360 flip first set easily the highest air of the event, straight into a 720 truck next set. He was riding so smooth and consistent.

The crowd was loving the dirt final
with the DJ cranking Pennywise and The Romones in classic "Worlds" fashion.

Parlsow Wins Red Bull Dream Line BMX Dirt

9/26/11

Style. Big Tricks. Perfection.
Vans BMX rider Luke Parslow can out swinging at the first-ever Dream Line contest in Wabasha, MN this weekend and walked away with $8000 cash and not a scratch on him. Luke threw down 360 flips, flip one-handed x-ups to turndowns, front flips and a giant double backflip, but it was his style and perfection that sealed the deal. Not crashing once and stretching huge classic nothings and supermans made Parslow the unanimous decision for the win. Other Vans riders TJ Ellis, Cory Nastazio, Gary Young and Diogo Canina were going huge on the some of the most perfect dirt jumps ever shaped.

TJ Ellis catch up

4/4/11

TJ Ellis has a good chance at winning any dirt contest he enters. He has the biggest moves up his sleeve and sends them all the time, no matter if it's a morning ride with his Vans team mate, Luke Parslow or if he's in the finals at a major contest. TJ recently went down on a wild move that has been good to him in the past, and he is now on the bench.

CM: TJ, you recently went down at Nasty's Jam and ended up having to get surgery, what happened?
TJ: Yeah that was no good I came in sideways on a front flip tail whip and my leg locked in a straight position and that's all it took. I thought I had a small tear and sprain but instead it was my ACL that completely tore and my meniscus had a bucket handle tear so got that all fixed and I'm just recovering now.

CM: How long until we see you blasting some dirt jumps again?
TJ: I should be back riding around late July hopefully. It's hard to tell with this injury though I don't wanna push it too soon. I'm just hoping to be back strong as possible by the time 6 months comes around and start back where I left off at.

CM: What have you been doing in the down time?
TJ: I've been just doing a lot of exercises and I recently just started walking so that got me off the couch away from the PS3. I've been checking out sessions here and there and I'm going to try to film some people ride in the mean time.

CM: You've had a couple of big injuries lately. BMX proves to be a rough hobby as you now know. What are your thoughts on it now compared to a few years ago when you really rode pretty full throttle without any care?
TJ: I look at it the same because you can get hurt doing any trick at any given time so as I get older just trying to stay off the ground more and just get more dialed with the big tricks but when I feel good on my bike that always changes and I start sending myself again. I just gotta keep it on 2 wheels and stay consistent.

Can't wait to see you shredding again mate,

Colin Mackay

TJ Ellis and DMC Scores Podium spots in Vegas

10/17/10

The Dew Tour Final in Las Vegas are now a wrap and TJ Ellis front-flip-whipped his way to a 3rd place podium spot in BMX Dirt along with blasting the most massive backflips of the night. TJ ended the season in thrid place overall followed by Vans BMX rider Luke Parslow only six points behind.

BMX legend Dennis McCoy reached deep into his vert roots and rode to a 3rd place finish in BMX Vert and came in 9th for the season tour. His teammate Coco Zurita stayed within the top 5 for the 2010 season.

The park course was crazy once again and it was Vans UK shredder Mark Webb who came within striking distance of the Dew Cup and brought out a 360 triple tailwhip en route to a 3rd place in the overall series with Scotty Cranmer in 8th place and Gary Yong in 11th.

Congrats to all the Vans riders who continue to push the level of BMX on and off the course!

Dew SLC dirt finals

9/18/10

Today Vans BMX Dirt team riders TJ Ellis and Luke Parslow braved the windy conditions in Salt Lake City, Utah for the Dew Tour Dirt finals.

Parslow got the ball rolling with a double flip on the last set first run, this was a great start for Luke, but unfortunately Luke crashed the next 2 runs and it takes 2 good ones to do well. Luke won practice that's for sure, he has a bunch of confidence at the moment and he seamed to enjoy the course. Look for Luke to shred the Las Vegas finals in a month.

TJ Ellis is battling a possible torn knee ligament at the moment, so he kept it cool where he would usually just send it, but TJ still rode very well and just missed out on podium in 4th place.

TJ is up for a NORA Cup next week in Las Vegas for Number One Dirt rider award, It would be great to see him take the prestigious award as it would be well deserved.
